After healing you will be fit with a compression garment called a "Shrinker sock". The shrinker is worn to: promote healing, reduce swelling, and help to shape and prepare the limb for fitting. The shrinker is usually worn 1-2 weeks before the next step of the process. A shrinker sock will be worn during the first few months, whenever you are not wearing your prosthesis, until your limb stabilizes.
